Transitional seasons make it difficult to know what type of outerwear you might need on a given day. This is why I’ve rounded up my picks for the best jackets for fall 2018. These are must-haves for my wardrobe when the temperatures are a bit more unpredictable and I need options to pick from to ensure I’m not too hot or cold.
The Trench Coat
The trench is one of my favorites as it instantly makes any outfit look chic. I love pairing a trench coat with jeans, heels and a loose button down to give a simple, yet effortless look.

The Wool Coat
A wool coat is a essential for cooler days. Definitely a bit more on the dressy side, a camel colored coat or a rich burgundy goes a long way to keep you warm and stylish.
Here are a few wool coats that I’ve got my eyes on.
The Leather Jacket
The leather jacket makes the best jackets for fall 2018 list because it has enough weight to keep you warm on mild temperature days, but get your wearing in while you can because it doesn’t usually do great in winter when temps are frigid. Leather is always fun to add into an outfit as it gives an edgy, cool girl look.

The Lightweight Jacket
The lightweight jacket is great for the awkward transitional time between summer and fall. When the temps start out cooler in the morning but then warm up during the day this is the perfect jacket to keep a light layer for warmth without bulk. Cargo and utility jackets tend to work well here.
