In all my on and off years of blogging I’ve never actually done a post about Valentine’s Day outfits. I think I’ve always found the stereotypical red and or pink dress “must haves” a bit silly. I mean do women actually scour stores looking for the perfect V-day dress to wear out on a date with their significant other? I see that as a valid excuse for things like NYE where the norm for most is to still dress up and go out but Valentine’s Day? I’m not so sure.
My husband and I haven’t gone out on a V-day specific date in several years. Now wait, its NOT because we are unhappy or anything, married life is great! We just don’t feel like playing into the over commercialized hype of “having” to do something special on February 14th every year. For us, doing something special around dates that are actually important to use like our anniversary or personal milestones are much more important.
This is a long, long way of saying Valentine’s day outfit posts are silly and if you don’t want to throw on a pink dress to feel like you’re participating but also don’t want to look like the Valentine’s Day Scrooge here’s a cute t-shirt that you can wear this February 14th :)
