With today being the official first day of fall, it felt only fitting to chat about how to transition the beloved slip dress into your fall attire. It’s clear the slip dress is not going anywhere which means that you can keep wearing it for as long as you want (or until the temps are just too cold for the slinky dress).
Before we go into transitional styles, let’s first give a shout out to the slip dress in this post. I’d been eye it at Aritzia and finally pulled the trigger. I wish I’d done it sooner so I could have been wearing it all summer long. Regardless, out of all the slip dresses I’ve tried on recently this one takes the cake. From the fit (which is great, I’m wearing a medium) to the pricing ($118 – higher in price but not as high as many other options) and all the color options (mine is the color sinopia) this is kind of the perfect slip dress. I kinda want to buy one more in another color, shhhh don’t tell my hubby!
How to transition your slip dress for fall
For A Professional Look
- Throw a blazer on top of it and a pair of mules (like I did) and you’re ready for the office. Super chic and super professional.
For A Casual Look
- Add a denim jacket and a pair of sneakers to create a relaxed look, ideal for brunch or exploring the city.
For A Date Night Look
- Pair with a sleek trench coat and pair of heels for a more sultry outfit.
